Steel Pipe Fittings BS EN 10241:2000 (BS1740:1971)

A 45 degree elbow in black mild steel to BS EN 10241 with BSP threaded ends. Also known as wrought iron fittingsThreaded seamless and welded steel pipe fittings BS EN 10241:2000 have been around for over 60 years, the first recorded standard I can locate was BS1740:1951 issued on the 6th June of that year. These fittings came in sizes no longer available under the present standard of BS EN 10241:2000 which included 5/8”, 1 3/4” 2 1/4” and 3 1/2” fittings to BS1740:1951 and we still have a fitting here at ValvesTubesFittings.com in 1 3/4” which is a BS1740:1951 wrought iron tee and was rescued from being scrapped from Newton Bank Works Hyde, the original business on this site was F W Ashton & Company Ltd, wax printers and the site first opened in 1814. They later became ABC Wax and then ABC Brunschweiler with the site finally closing almost 200 years later in 2009.

That was somewhat off the subject of steel pipe fittings BS EN 10241:2000 but the point is sites like ABC Wax and many other textile businesses have used steel threaded pipe fittings in steam systems for many decades and still do today as they are robust and stand up to the rigours process steam systems better than other pipe fittings such as malleable iron. Here at ValvesTubesFittings.com, we can offer steel pipe fittings BS EN 10241:2000 from stock for delivery anywhere in the United Kingdom, for more information on temperatures and pressures for steam or any other medium please contact our sales team today to discuss your requirements.
