Gate Valves

Gate valves are intended to be used in either a fully open or fully closed configuration when installed. The primary role of any gate valve is to act as an isolating valve within a pipeline system and are typically used when minimal pressure loss is needed, this type of valve should not be used as a replacement for a regulating or control valve.

Valve operation is simple, rotate the handle attached to the valve stem in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise motion, clockwise to close the valve and counter clockwise to open the gate valve. This moves the gate inside the valve upwards or downwards on the threaded stem of the valve. As multiple turns of the handle are required to fully open or close the gate water hammer is also reduced.
