We offer a small selection of hot dip galvanised (HDG) threaded pipe fittings in mild steel to BS EN 10241:2000 from stock, you may refer to these fittings as wrought iron fittings and they were previously known as BS1740 fittings. Wrought iron fittings to BS EN 10241 are incredibly robust and one of the most versatile threaded fittings available on the UK market and can be used at pressures of up to 25 bar (PN25).
Whilst galvanised pipe fittings are not recommended for use on process steam there are a variety of common uses of galvanised EN 10241 wrought iron pipe fittings, these include installation on high pressure compressed air and water systems among others.
All of our galvanised EN 10241 steel pipe fittings have been manufactured by Delcorte, come with female BSPP parallel and male BSPT taper threaded ends to BS EN 10226-1 and have a maximum operating temperature of 230°C. Wrought iron fittings are most commonly installed with steel pipe and tube to BS EN 10255, we offer a selection of sizes, grades and finishes from stock which you can find here.
