A Quick Installation Guide For M-Press Fittings

The key to a good installation of press fittings is to do it right the first time and every time and for added assurance, we can offer full and free training from the M-Press team. For those experienced pipe fitters here is a quick guide to installing press fittings to ensure that when the job is complete its leak free and covered by the extensive M-Press warranty.

  • Cut the tube square
  • Clean and deburr the ends of the tube internally and externally while ensuring there are no sharp edges.
  • Mark the tube using the M-Press depth gauge
  • Remove any packaging from the fitting and insert the tube into the fitting to the depth marked previously
  • Connect the correct jaws to your pressing machine and place the jaws over the fitting maintaining a 90° angle between the tube and the jaws
  • Start your pressing cycle on your machine and wait for the machine to complete the process, remove the machine once finished

  • Only begin pressing when you're certain the fitting and the seal are in the correct position
  • Do not attempt press unsupported fittings or pipe (The correct support brackets must be installed)
  • Please ensure that your pressing machine has an up to date calibration certificate
