BS EN 10241:2000 Steel Pipe Fittings

Black wrought iron pipe fittings, suitable for process steam and moreBS EN 10241:2000 Steel pipe fittings can be found at here at ValvesTubesFittings.com in sizes 1/4" to 6" or 8mm to 150mm nominal bore. Depending on your age you might know this range of threaded steel fittings as wrought iron; although they haven’t been manufactured in that material for a few decades.

We offer BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings due to the robustness of the material and for the fact that this range covers up to 25 bar/364 psi. In our experience they are used often on process steam systems; and when installing steam and condense lines using BSP fittings, its what we would recommend to our customer base. For further information on this range please contact our sales team or continue to read this blog.

BS EN 10241:2000 Steel Pipe Fittings Self Colour

As we have already stated this wide range of quality Black wrought iron pipe fittings to BS EN 10241:2000BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings are extensively used on process steam and condense lines. The reason behind this is because we believe that they stand up to the rigours of these systems better than the alternative in BS EN 10242:1995 malleable iron pipe fittings. The question becomes mute when installing larger bore systems as we would always recommend welding fittings and flanges.

What we consider larger bore would be anything above 2” or 50mm nominal bore. Although we do offer fittings in sizes to 6” or 150mm nominal bore, threaded fittings at larger sizes are more prone to leaking from threads that are not sufficiently sealed with compound or tape; and many jointing compound manufacturers won’t guarantee joints above 2"/50mm threads.

Other uses for this range of threaded pipe fittings are hot oil systems where the temperature does not exceed 230°C and the working pressure is less than 25 bar. Our range of BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings are in the main seamless forgings apart from when tubulars are required, the maximum pressure and temperature is constrained by the tubular material used in manufacture.

BS EN 10241:2000 Steel Pipe Fittings Galvanised

Our range of galvanised BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings are somewhat less extensive than what we offer in self-colour. With good reason as this is probably one of our least sought-after products. We can still offer a small stock of these fittings and can offer deliveries on a slightly extended lead time or occasionally with an additional carriage charge. To source what you require in this range contact our sales team who will be happy to help in any way they can.

As far as use goes on galvanised BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings, they are generally looked for on higher pressure compressed air and water systems. They're mainly offered with an HDG (hot dipped galvanised) and like the self-colour fittings are seamless with the same working pressures and temperatures.

BS EN 10241:2000 Steel Pipe Fittings Seamless and Welded

BS EN 10241:2000 steel pipe fittings are manufactured in seamless and welded types, the stock we usually hold is of the seamless variety. Presently the vast majority of our fittings (this does not include tubulars) are seamless forged fittings and are pressure tested to 150 Bar. If on the odd occasion we offer welded fittings, a rare occurrence; the test pressure is 75 Bar.

Tubulars are subject to the pressure restrictions covered by the material they are manufactured from, these include barrel nipples and long radius tubular bends. As a norm these are manufactured from tube to BS EN 10255:2004; and in the majority of cases from ourselves, we offer heavy material. Medium tubulars are available on request, but we do not offer this option from stock. For more information contact our sales team, who will assist in any way possible.
